Thought I'd do a dog study last Tuesday. This is my neighbors dog Lexy. Oil painted on a  8 x 10  canvas board. Definitely learned about fur brush strokes and directional interest. I will  do a little more work on the collar and darkening the background on the left side and abstract the background a bit more.for one commission similar to this $80

This was more of a study on composition and drawing proportions from a real still life setup. I can see now that the colors I chose in the background doesn't help the contrast, perhaps reversing the value would help.
